4:  The fuel requirement depends upon the type of boat you have selected for the trip, like:

  • Patrol boats require a range of 250 miles.
  • Diesel boats require a range of 376 miles.
  • Gasoline boats require a range of 450 miles.

5:  While crossing the bridge between Chicago and the Illinois River, your boat must have a height of 19.1 feet. If it exceeds the limit, remove the objects like antennas, bimini tops, and masts.

6:  You must have approximately 90 to 500 gallons of water for indoor usages such as showering, or flushing.

7:  On the cruise, you will need around 30 to 50-ampere power connection with 2 reducers – one of 30 amp and the other of 15 amp.

8:  You must have a filtration system on the boat so that you can filter the water for drinking purposes.

9:   Don’t forget to have GPS Navigational System along with you.

10:  Other than that, a Secondary depth finder, Waterway guides, and VHF radio are highly suggested to take with you.
